The Purple Cow

One of the things I miss about my hometown Little Rock is the food, especially one of my favorite
restaurants, The Purple Cow. It’s a diner-style restaurant with a big dessert menu, and they’re most
famous for their purple milkshakes. But, don’t worry; it just tastes like normal vanilla! My family and
I went to The Purple Cow for birthdays, after my brother’s soccer games, or anytime we wanted a
cheeseburger or chicken sandwich. I just checked their website, and it looks like they’ve opened
three new restaurants since I moved to Japan; so you know its good food! Next time I go to the U.S.,
this is going to be one of the first places I go.

Lake Ouachita

This is a nice shot of Lake Ouachita (pronounced WA-shi-ta) from my home state Arkansas.  The most surprising thing about it is, it isn’t a natural lake! It was built so it could power a hydroelectric dam. But, it’s still a beautiful place. In fact, in the summer, it’s one of the most popular places to go swimming, jet skiing, or fishing. It wasn’t that far from my hometown, and you can rent anything you need. One summer, my family and I rented a small cabin and a boat for the weekend, and it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever taken. We just swam, barbecued, and relaxed all day.
