Haircut
Because of the state of emergency I hadn’t gotten my hair cut for 3 months.
Well every time I go to the barbershop the barber is different so what do I do to get a somewhat similar haircut…?
Answer: I take out a photo of David Beckham and say, “Make me look like this, please.” After the barber stops laughing and tells me it’s impossible I show him a photo from the last time I got a haircut and show him. “Alright, this will do.”
¥1,100 later, here I am.

Online Drinks With Friends
One of the silver linings of this awful situation is that it has given me a different way to drink and catch up with friends from all over the world.
In Japan, the US, Australia, and even Abu Dhabi, we’re all trying to do our part by staying at home. Luckily because of online meeting companies (like Zoom 
), we’ve already had three or four nomikai nights online!

Friends: My Favorite TV Show Of All Time
Back when Dave and I were roommates, we used to watch Friends episodes over and over. (At the time, we didn’t have Netflix so we used to watch the limited number of DVDs we had multiple times.)
I think we seriously watched the whole TV show at least three or four times…maybe more. And so you know, the 10-season show had 236 episodes! That’s a lot of TV watching, ha ha!
Well recently, over the last couple months, I’ve been inside more often so I started watching Friends again.
For students, I think it’s one of the best TV shows to study with. They use everyday English, the show is super funny, and it’s a great story that spanned ten years.
Check it out if you haven’t seen it! I still love it.

Japan’s Mini Beers ミニビール
Has anyone ever seen these at your local supermarket? These things crack me up. I mean, who buys the little cans? It’s definitely not me.
On second thought, it might be funny to do an entire night of just drinking the tiny ones. Then again, I might have to buy more than 30 of them. Ha ha.

Beer walking with a stranger back in Japan 飲み歩き
Long time no post folks, so I thought I’d share this one.
Back in May, over the Golden Week holiday, a very special person from Jabble’s past was in town for a few days.
Anyone remember this beautiful big man’s face? That’s right…Ryan!
So how to celebrate such an occasion? Well, why not do what we so often did when he was still in Japan: walk around Tokyo drinking beer!
Oh, and our lunch time (beautiful) mistake: a bowl of fatty miso ramen.

Oddly, after lunch I didn’t feel nearly as bad as I thought I would. (I followed Dave’s advice and tried to limit the amount of soup I ate. Ha ha!)
Thank you ごっつ ラーメン (Gottsu Ramen)! You were worth every minute of the food coma.

Wrestling at Kameido Tenjin Festival 亀戸天神祭りのプロレス
Jabble 英会話 Wrestling at Kameido Tenjin Festival 亀戸天神祭りのプロレス
A couple weeks ago we headed to Kameido’s Tenjin Festival. On the way to the festival it was pretty quiet so I was wondering if there was actually a festival going on.
But when we arrived, we were not disappointed! Pro wrestling baby! I’m not a huge fan of wrestling (I was when I was a kid), but I have to admit, seeing it live was pretty awesome! Seeing the wrestlers doing flips off of the ropes was amazing. The wrestlers were really nice as well. After it was all finished, they stayed around to take pictures and sign autographs.
Events like this always remind me how incredible Japan is. Where else in the world can you see pro wrestling set against the backdrop of a shrine and Sky Tree?! Methinks not too many places.

Halong Bay, Vietnam ハロン湾 ベトナム
For Golden Week I got the chance to spend five days in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was a great country with really nice people and excellent food. Here is a picture of me with the guys at Halong Bay.
And here is a bowl of pho that was only about ￥150!
Oh!…and the beer was about ￥70!
I can see Vietnam in my future. Ha ha!

Winter Olympics drone light show
They used 1218 drones for this awesome light show at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics. It’s pretty impressive how far drones have come in recent years. I wonder how they prevent unlicensed drones from filming the Olympics in outdoor events these days. They probably use other drones to take them down.
