“the heroine”は”hero”の女性版ですが現在はあまり使用されていません。
良いことをする、人助けをする人物のことをさすのでこの会話でのストーリーで”the heroine”は不自然になってしまいます。

Bさん: It’s about a few lawyers working in Kyoto. The main character finds work at a top law firm.She has to work on some big cases.

訳: 京都で働く弁護士たちの話です。主人公は一流の弁護士事務所で働きます。大きな事件を担当することになります。

「予定がある」と言う時、日本語では、「約束がある」でも普通ですが英会話では“I have a promise.”と直訳した言い方はしません。
この際用事が一つだったとしても“plans”とsが付きます。

A: Sorry I have plans. Maybe next time?
訳: ごめんなさい、予定があります。次の機会はどうかな？

「絵を描く」とは”draw”を使います。
“paint”も日本語で考えると同じ意味ですが、絵具やペンキで絵を描く、塗ったりすることを意味します。
“draw”はペンやクレヨンで、絵画を描くことを意味します。

Bさん：I like drawing. I have a lot of nice colored pencils.

訳：絵を描くことが好きです。たくさんの良い色鉛筆を持ってます。
